When 2 people have access to full prototype fits, the differentiator will be your ISK generation capabilities. When you make all the prototype gear available with AUR you defeat that balance. When a regular person that spends $20/month on a merc pack goes up against p2w deep pockets and they both finish up their isk deposits, the regular Joe has to fall back on standard/advanced fits to generate more income, Mrs deep pockets instead falls back to at worst 2nd best prototype gear in the game. Not talking about fair, talking about balanced, there's plenty of ways to take money and be balanced. When its not balanced you kill the longevity of the game by showing you are only interested in short term money grab. Are you considering when they allow eve transfers??? Even with a huge tax, what about those corps that will be able to transfer billions of ISK to their dust players? "ISK generation" will be useless.......see some of you look at aur like it's the bad guy when there is nothing wrong with the system. It is balanced.....all except for this VK.0 unlocked at lvl 3
And when this happens there will be a massive vacuum, all of the small corps that can't survive will either be swallowed up by the bigger corps or form their own massive alliance. Ydubbs is right, the major problem lies in the generating power of a massive Eve-Dust alliance that can produce a continuous stream of Isk and items. We will start seeing an economy based on the small percentage of the rich lording over the majority poor.
I guess, that is one of the reasons aur items can be used to even the playing field. Yes, large corps will still have the advantage, however, if the regular player can obtain proto level weapons/items that could give them an advantage (eventually we will get to the point where a large percent of the population will be at proto, at this point skill, not items will be the determining factor on who wins).
The coming months will be interesting as it will determine the direction of New Eden. Just remember, it doesn't matter how large a corp or alliance is, eventually they all fall apart. |
